Becoming a lineman requires a unique combination of technical skills and physical fitness. Essential skills include a strong understanding of electrical systems, the ability to read and interpret diagrams, and proficiency in using specialized tools. Physically, linemen must be prepared to work at great heights, lift heavy objects, and perform demanding tasks in all types of weather. A fear of heights is not an option. Many positions also require a Commercial Driver's License (CDL).
