Changshi Launches Virtual Reality Training Hub for Line Crews
2025-11-07Ningbo Changshi has unveiled a new combined virtual-and-field training program leveraging VR (virtual reality) and AR (augmented reality). In Changshi’s VR training hub, trainees wear VR headsets to simulate stringing operations on virtual towers. They can practice complex procedures like conductor splicing and dead-ending in a zero-risk environment. The VR modules replicate real equipment and realistic terrains, so linemen gain hands-on experience even before arriving at the job site.
Key features of the training hub include:
-
Immersive VR Scenarios: Full 3D simulations of transmission towers and stringing equipment. Trainees perform each step of a pull – from anchoring conductors to tensioning – with haptic feedback, building muscle memory safely.
-
AR-Assisted Field Courses: After virtual practice, crews use AR smart glasses during live field training. Real-time overlays guide them on safety checks, tool usage and best practices, reinforcing learning on the ground.
-
On-Demand Learning Portal: Recorded VR sessions and interactive e-manuals are available online. Crews can refresh skills or study equipment operation anytime, improving knowledge retention.
By integrating advanced training technology, Changshi accelerates the onboarding of international stringing crews. This approach shortens the learning curve and ensures consistent safety standards worldwide. With simulated scenarios of every major stringing task, technicians are better prepared for real projects, which leads to fewer mistakes and faster project completion. Changshi’s VR/AR hub represents a next-generation commitment to workforce development in the powerline industry.
