FAQ

Answer: For refurbished units require: full rework log, replaced wear parts documented, load test certificate (to rated capacity), hydraulic system overhaul, painted/protected components, parts warranty, and proof of original model and serial numbers. Prefer certified refurbishers with references.
Answer: Require ISO-grade crates, internal blocking to prevent movement, corrosion inhibitors for sea transport, clear lifting points labeled with WLL, and a photos & packing list pre-shipment. Add insurance and inspection upon arrival clause in contract.
Answer: Include a two-tier program: (A) operator training (2–3 days) covering safe setup, CTCS use, remote controls, emergency stop and daily checks; (B) maintenance training (2–3 days) covering hydraulic systems, dynamometer calibration, sheave replacement and troubleshooting. Provide certs for attendees and an e-manual + maintenance schedule.
Answer: Negotiate a minimal consignment kit (sheaves, seals, bearings, hoses, pins) stored near project or on-site with defined reorder points. For AOG critical parts, specify air shipping options and pre-agreed pricing; include customs paperwork readiness to speed delivery.
Answer: Require vendor and contractor to carry third-party liability and property damage insurance, specify amounts for hull/physical damage, and require coverage of recovery costs for drone/rope retrievals; include indemnity clauses for negligent maintenance or supply defects. For drone operations, require proof of BVLOS/VLOS approvals where applicable.
Answer: Consider lifecycle cost: HTLS often reduces retrofit needs and increases capacity but requires compatible sheaves and higher tension ratings. Include potential savings from reduced line replacements and re-conductoring when computing TCO — and verify equipment matches HTLS vendor specs.
Answer: Include a Spare Parts Availability Clause: vendor guarantees availability of critical spares for X years, commits to shipping timeframes (e.g., 48–72 hrs for critical spares by air), and sets fixed pricing or pricing formula for spares over the first Y years. Include penalties for non-compliance.
Answer: Require manufacturer ISO 9001 (quality), CE where applicable, equipment load-test certificates, and local electrical/safety standards depending on destination (e.g., OSHA references or national utility codes). For electronic controls request EMC/RoHS documentation as applicable.
Answer: Ask for: short demonstration videos of the model under load, sample FAT reports, 3 client references with similar projects, stamped technical drawings/spec sheets, and a small paid pilot rental or demo if feasible. This reduces risk before awarding larger orders.
